TaiG has been the only usable jailbreak tool for iOS 8.1.2,and only works on Windows. Mac users can only use virtual machine to jailbreak their devices on Mac. Today, a Chinese third-party App Store ‘PP assistant’ released PP Jailbreak for Mac, which designed for Mac users to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running on iOS 8.1.2. Same with the other dmg format Apps on Mac, just simply download and install PPJailbreak.dmg on your computer for jailbreaking.

As always, always some issues that you must know before jailbreaking iOS 8.1.2 on Mac with the PP jailbreak.

    • PP jailbreak for Mac supports almost all devices running on iOS 8.0 – 8.1.2.
    • This jailbreak only available for Mac (OS X 10.7 or later). Windows users can use the TaiG jailbreak.
    • Always back up your personal data before the jailbreak.
    • Disable any Anti-virus programs or firewalls temporarily that could prevent PP Jailbreak from connecting to the internet.
    • Disable Passcode from Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. Also turn off Find my iPhone from Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone.

Step 1: Download [Official, Mirror] on your Mac.

Step 2: Connect the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to computer.

Step 3: Double click on the PP Jailbreak file you just download to launch it.

Step 4: PP Jailbreak will take some time to detect your device. Once you confirm that it is showing the correct firmware version, deselect the check box at the bottom as it seems to install the Chinese pirated app store.

Step 5: Click on the button at the center to proceed.

Step 6: Click on the button to the right on the next page to proceed, where it tells you to disable the passcode and Find my iPhone feature.

Step 7: After the jailbreak is complete, your device will reboot automatically, and you should should see the Cydia icon on the Home screen.
